My name is Rayyan Rashid, a sophomore pursuing English (Honors). Writing is something I’ve called home. When the world looks grey, the woods turn yellow, people seem bleak, and there’s no hope, I seek refuge in writing. It helps me present the chaos I have in my mind, the eerie turmoil inside, or the fragmented milieu of our society. Whenever I’m disillusioned, happy, or feel like nothing, I write vehemently. Fun fact: I was nowhere close to English and literature until I read the chapter The Diary of a Young Girl. That chapter made me dump the idea of doing medicine and pursue literature to the core of my heart.
