180 DC JMI Hosted Jamia Case Challenge 2.0

After organising a successful case study competition last year during Nirvana 180, in September 2024, 180DC JMI hosted Jamia’s biggest case study competition, Jamia Case Challenge 2.0 with a cash prize pool worth ₹10,000 on 12th February, 2025 at the University Placement Cell, Training Room, Faculty of Engineering and Technology.

The competition attracted over 350 registrations from over 30 departments in Jamia and after a highly competitive selection process, only 15 teams were selected for the final offline round. Participants were presented with a real-time business case with multiple deliverables, requiring them to develop innovative solutions within a limited timeframe. Before releasing the business case, an exclusive masterclass was held for all the participants to train them on business problem-solving and case study competitions on 7th Feb at the UPC Training Room.

The case challenge brought together talented students from various disciplines including business, engineering and humanities to tackle real-world business problems and aimed to provide a valuable platform for students to develop essential problem-solving and analytical skills, showcase their talent and learn from industry experts. It aspired to foster a positive culture of consulting, competence and intellectual growth on campus, empowering students to unlock their potential and thrive in dynamic professional environments.

The event was graced by Dr Rihan Khan Suri and Dr Saba Khan, guests of honour and Dr Rahela Farooqi, faculty advisor. They also enlightened students with their valuable insights and appreciated 180DC JMI for organising the competition.

A panel of esteemed judges including Mr Adil Ahmed, Chief operating officer at Gurucool, Mr Rameez Anwar founder of Carbene Care and Mr. Sufyan, founder of Azan Guru, evaluated the team presentations.

After a highly competitive process, Team CaseComp Baddies which had Mr Zaid, Miss Laiba, Mr Abdullah and Mr Ridhiman as its members emerged as the winner of the competition. They presented a comprehensive and innovative solution, addressing the key challenges posed by the case. Team Case Cracker and Badmos Gang secured second and third positions respectively.

One of the finalists, Shaan Raza, a third year B.Tech student said he worked on the case presentation for 35 hours in the span of 3 days while another participant said he burned the midnight oil for four days straight. Their dedication spoke for itself, revealing the passion and effort they had put in. The Jamia Case Challenge 2.0, hosted by 180DC JMI, not only raised the bar high for future competitions but also pushed students to unleash their maximum potential.
